Ahoy there, me hearties! Gather 'round and hearken to the tale of the bravest coffee growers on the seven seas! Once upon a time, these stalwart souls were known as "colonials," and in the tempestuous waters of the 1950s, they were marooned by wealthy buccaneers who claimed their fertile lands and pressed the local folk into service, treating 'em no better than sea dogs.

But, arrr, the winds of fortune shifted in 1991, when a gale of governmental land reform blew through, and these scallywags were made to walk the plank, surrendering the small farms back to the rightful kin who had tilled the soil for generations.

Now these independent farmers, no longer in the shadow of the land-hogging lords, stand firm on their own plots, with the freedom to chart a new course for prosperity. They're cultivatin' more than just the finest beans in the realm; they're growin' a future ripe with hope, for themselves and their kin, free to seek out treasures of health and wealth for all in the community.

So, come aboard, sip a cup of this precious brew, and taste the freedom in every drop – a treasure chest of flavor won from the very clutches of tyranny, aye!

Ideal Roast

The ideal roast for Bolivia FTO Colonial Carana Fresh Roasted Coffee Beans can depend on personal preference, but generally, a medium roast is often recommended for these beans. A medium roast allows the unique flavors of the Bolivian coffee to shine without overwhelming them with the characteristics of a darker roast.

This roast level brings out the bean's natural acidity, floral notes, and bright, fruity flavors while maintaining a balanced profile. It also allows you to experience the full complexity and nuance of the coffee. However, taste is subjective, so if you prefer a slightly lighter or darker roast, feel free to adjust to your liking. Enjoy your brewing adventure with these Bolivian beans!

Know yer roasts, me matey!

Different roasters have their own fancy names, and there be little standardization. Light, medium, medium-dark, and dark be the broad categories, each with its own character.

Light roasts, like the color of sun-kissed sand, suit milder coffees. No oil be on the surface, as they haven't been roasted long enough for it to emerge. Light City, Half City, and Cinnamon be the brethren of light.

Medium roasts be the medium brown siblings, boastin' a stronger flavor without the oily exterior. The American roast, or City, be favored in the United States, fit for a hearty breakfast.

Medium-dark roasts, a rich dark hue with a touch of oil, leave a bittersweet taste. Full City be the name of this dark charm.

Dark roasts be the black beauties, shiny and oily, with a pronounced bitterness. The darker the roast, the less acidity in the brew. From High to French, they be a varied crew, so mind yer beans before ye make a choice! Yarrr!
